Let's Get to a Real Sport...

Let's all admit this: the first round of the tournament was thoroughly disappointing. Even Duke losing wasn't as fun as usual, and there were a grand total of 2 upsets, both 6-11. Not even the "guaranteed" 5-12 upset, thanks to Illinois blowing it (not that I needed another reason to dislike them, but thanks for blowing one of my picks). Maybe there will actually be some games that give Kevin Harlan a chance to use the golden voice that he is so anxiously waiting to unleash. That said, let's move on.

Interesting commercial on the old television these days. It's for Chevrolet, meaning American cars, meaning they need to do something to stop getting dominated by better, more efficient, nicer cars made by every other country. So obviously something needs to be done to stop the decade-long run of Japanese auto domination. Can the marketing teams PLEASE save American car manufacturers?
Here's the solution: NASCAR + Dale Earnhardt, Jr. + TI (the hip-hop artist) at the infield of some speedway, most likely in the south. Take a watch:

Now really, I don't know who Chevy is trying to appeal to here. Is it the NASCAR crowd. Is it the urban crowd, are they trying to do a cross-over and mix the two? Either way, I just don't think that the NASCAR crowd is going to be pumped that Chevy is now hip enough to put TI in one of their videos. He is the King of the South and all, but I don't know if that is officially recognized by his redneck constituency. And I'm trying to imagine a convo between a NASCAR driver and a hip-hop artist. I mean, think of Tony Stewart and Ludacris sitting down for a little chit, little chat. Weird and odd. That's all I can say.

Ridiculous that I'm not posting about college basketball? Sure. But apparently Bill Simmons now is covering that, too. So why even bother?
